After You by Jojo Moyes
(Pamela Dorman Books/Viking, 2015, 352 pages)
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes back in 2013 so I was thrilled when I heard she’d be writing this sequel. We revisit Louisa after her time with Will, the man she loved, has come to an end. Now she’s trying to figure out who she is and what she wants to do with her life but it’s hard when it feels like she’s living in a void. New people and new opportunities present themselves to Lou, but she’s not sure if she has it in her to move forward from the past that keeps dragging her down.
I really enjoyed reading this book. While I wasn’t as engrossed in it as I was with Me Before You it was great to revisit the story and see where Moyes was going to take Louisa next. I certainly recommend both titles and if you like them I think you’ll enjoy her other work as well.
