Saga, Vol 2

Saga, Volume 2 by Brian K. Vaughan, illustrated by Fiona Staples
(Image Comics, 2013, 144 pages)

Saga, Vol. 2 continues the story of Marko, Alana, and baby Hazel from Vol. 1 (yes, they all survived!) and introduces Marko’s parents. Like in Romeo and Juliet, Marko’s mother isn’t thrilled with her son marrying a winged girl from the other side, but his father bonds with his new daughter-in-law after Marko and his mom go on an excursion. The story also continues to follow the characters looking for Marko and Alana, revealing their backstories and the adversity they face in searching for the couple. Just like Saga, Vol.1, this is an adult-themed graphic novel that’s hard to put down.
